Complying with an Election Commission directive, the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Karnataka today transferred Bangalore Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji ahead of the May 5 assembly elections.
One more person with alleged links to banned terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiyba and Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami has been nabbed taking the total number of such suspects arrested since August to 15, a top police official said.
The Bengaluru police have arrested one more youth with alleged links to the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami as it intensified investigation into terror modules busted in Karnataka, taking the number of those detained in this connection to 13.
The accused were identified as Rajiv Ranjan, 30, native of Bihar, Mohammed Azar, 25, native of Andhra Pradesh, Sathya Priya, 25, native of Tamil Nadu, and M N Naryanana, 29, from Kerala, according to Bengaluru Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji.
